🎬『グランド・ブダペスト・ホテル』での使用例

レイフ・ファインズ演じるグスタヴがある容疑で刑務所に収監される過程で、彼は囚人仲間たちと脱獄計画を立てる場面がある。

じゃが、刑務所の壁は厚く、計画の遂行には最短でも6か月はかかる見込み。その間に仲間が処刑されてしまう可能性を指摘したグスタヴに対し、囚人仲間の一人がこう言うのじゃ。

🎬 Example from 『The Grand Budapest Hotel』

In the film,there’s a scene where Gustave,played by Ralph Fiennes,is thrown into prison on suspicion of a crime.
While he’s there,he starts planning an escape with the other inmates.

But here’s the problem.
The prison walls are thick,and the plan would take at least six months.
Gustave points out that one of their friends might be executed before then.

And one of the prisoners says to him:

“You hit the nail on the head,Mr. Gustave.”

This phrase comes from hitting a nail square on the head with a hammer.
When you do that,you get it exactly right.

That’s why the prisoner says it.Gustave has spotted the real problem at the very heart of the plan.
